Commuting in Style and Comfort

Ride the rails in style and comfort on one of the only commuter rail parlor cars left in the United States and the only one operated by NJ Transit—car no. 5459, operated by the Jersey Shore Commuters Club Inc., established in 1933. Operating on North Jersey Coast Line trains 2304 (6:04 a.m. Bay Head) and 2311 (5:46 p.m. Hoboken Terminal), parlor car 5459 is a comfortable, hassle-free way to travel. The cost is just a few extra dollars per day above the price of an NJT rail ticket, and the JSCC offers a variety of options: annual, monthly, quarterly, round-trip, one-way, and ten-trip. JSCC parlor car 5459 is open to any fare-paying NJ Transit commuter.

Tired of scrambling for a seat on the train, or standing? Desire a comfortable space where you can spread out a little? Where you can relax or work? Then you'll appreciate our 24 reclining Amtrak Metroliner-style seats with drop-down tables, and our two large tables with seating for up to eight. Stop into car 5459 (always coupled next to the locomotive, on the rear in the morning, on the head end in the evening), check out our comfortable amenities, and try us out!
